FINALLY

this is it. the final countdown!! dadadaaaa dada dada. hahaha last time ill probably evwe blog. life is just to mbusy to keep up with things like this.. maybe ill visit again in the future.. hmmm. well when i frist started this class i thought this would be the easiest and most fun class all semester... and it was, untill i started slacking and getting pilled with so many other things to worry about in life. then my grade dropped. which is so messed up cause all my life iv allllways read. but its mostly inthe summer. an ever since high school its gotten harder to read during the school year. i really regret it. i love reading, its my escape.. i guess i just need to find anotther good series, cause those are always my favorite. i would have concidred myself an avid reader... untill this class made me keep track and lowered my nerd selfesteem /:

this class also made me realize how hard it is to find a good book to read when your looking for one. in my past experiences, a good book jumps out at you when you least expect it! but when your trying to find one,,, they hide. this is the sole reason why i had such a problem keeping up with assignments.. i was doing great at first when i came into this calss already reading a good book but when i finshed, and i was forced to find another one, and soon so i could meet my requirements.

i always read in silence. i used to cherish the time my house was empty in the sumemr to just sit in a sunny spot and read. i guess i feel more energized to read when its warm... some people like being all snuggled on a cold day reading.. and yeah i guess that nice, but i enjoy the warm sun when i read... unless theres wind, cause thats no fun. i usually ignore the txts i get untill iv reached a good stopping point to check my phone, unless im having an iportant conversation. but iv been known to put my phone on silence when im reading so i can check it when i feel like it, not when it goes off.

if i ever try to talk to someone about my book, i can tell they just dont care. so i keep my many emotions i get from my readings to nmyself.. which i dont always like, i would enjoy a book club buuuut.. witehr your a crazy avid reader and just cant stop or youu dont at all... not many people like me.

to be honest, i dont like keeping track of my pages read.. its make reading not as personal and more of an assisgnment. i dont wanna say this class made reading less fun... but kinda did. i liked being able to vent about my books on the blog but no one commented back... so i was basically talking to myself. but aftyer this class watch me find the best book now and read non stop.. seems like my luck. ut ill always contunie reading, thats fer sure ((:

Finishing "Hate List", which was 408 pages, i severley enjoyed it! it was made my very angry at times, Valrie, the main character, dosnt act the the situations the way i would. plus she has a horribley cheating, anger stricken father that she dosnt really do anything about... its hard to explain without giving away the book but i had to put the book down for a bit after reading that chapter. in the end, i guess it was a happy ending but how happy can an ending be about telling the life story of a girl whos boyfriend opened fire on the school killing 6 people, including himself.

but NOW, im reading the perfect novel for octorber,, "Pet Cemetery" by Stephen King, i am a fan of his work and iv heard that the movie was pretty disturbing and i wanted to give it  a try and so far, only 18 pages into it, its a totally normal and happy story about a man and his family moving from the city of Chicago to a small town in Maine. and im looking forward to getting to the good part of this book (: im a sucker for anything scary.

alot of the students didnt do style mapping the same. they were akk diffrent.. so idk how to even understand what they were writing about or saying.........

Style Mapping

Googled: The End of the World as We Know It -- Ken Auletta
On the high end of the Y axis, Ken is bluntly stating his surroundings at his college campus. He seems to be in a nervous state of mind with many thoughts coarsing through his mind, always worrying about his competetors and his jobs work which has basically become his life. "Short and pugnacious, Karmazin was by his own admission 'always paranoid' about competitors."

On the denotative end of the X axis, he simply states the simple facts. theres students sitting with thier laptops wearing baggy tshirts. he himself is wearing a suit a tie that gray hait cut quite short. "With his suit and tie and closley cropped gray hair, Mel Karmazin stood out as he crossed the Google campus in Mountain View, California, passing people in baggy T-shorts holding thier laptops before them..."

On the Z axis, the exerpt seems to fall in the middle. the tone is niether musical and sweet nor is it thretening and noisey. if it had to be calssified as harsh or musical, id choose harsh. the thoughts of his that he tells are negative and uneasy, leaning me towards the harsh side of the chart.

"The Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing" -- Melissa Bank
On the high end of the Y axis, the narrator desribes her briothers loving and serious realtionship with his girlfriend. She gives off a sence of liking this woman and respects the love her brotehr has for her. she does seem a bit skeptical but descibes her with possitive and beautiful features. "She had dark eyes, high cheek bones, and beautiful skin, pale, with high coloring in her cheeks like a chikd with fever."

On the connotative end of the X axis, the exerpt is suggestive that the narrator and her mother are skeptical of Henrys girlfriend. With the desriptive words, it can be seen as poetic. "I thought maybe she'd look older than Henrey, but it was Henry looked older than Henry"

On the musical end of the Z axis, again, with her diction and thoughtful feelings put into this exerpt.

Quartley $0.25

i haven't read as much as i thought i would have this semester. i didn't think i was gonna have a problem reading because enough for ety. because 1. i love it and 2. I'm only taking two classes and a comp class at St Francis, so i thought  ill have hours to read on those raining nights or those sunny days. but my senior year is full of allot of others things that don't even involve homework. college apps and scholarships, senior pictures, dealing with my parents ranting about my new found adulthood... and i sadly haven't read much. the beginning of the year i was reading the SWEEP series which kept me focused on reading for a while. but then school really started, things picked up, i got lost. the whole time i WAS looking for something that would keep my interest and keep me wanting more, but it didn't happen until about a week ago.

i always read before bed, even if i haven't crawled into the sheet until midnight, ill stay up till 1 reading, or until i just cant keep my eyes open any long. sometimes i have trouble getting comfortable when reading. especially when its a thick book and the owner of this novel doesn't want any sorta of crease in the binding,.. that can get complicated. but i still read. ill usually look ahead and gauge where ill be stopping bu ti almost always read one more chapter than intended. i really do looove reading, but only if its a book that keeps my interested. i probably tried 4 different books until i got to this recent one that keeps my attention. i want a book that's a story.. i guess that's called a novel.

but I'm glad i have found a book and I'm loving it so far, but the bad news is.. it doesn't have a sequel so when I'm finished with this one, the hunt begins again......

negligent.. careless.. remiss... SLACK

so "The Dart League King" isnt working. but thats not the only things thats not working is.. everything else! i have a horrible senior picture dilema, i dont know who im gonna have do it, let alone if im even going to have them done in the first place! but my mother is fighting with me about getting a new outfit! im not gonna have a photo shoot without thee perfect outfit and we cant just afford to go buy a whole new outfit APPARENTLY. plus i want my pictures taken withthe tress of the fall. but theres gonna be a storm this friday that will knock all the leaves off all the trees! so i have like 3 days to get clothes, my hair done, and set up a time to get my senior pictures; PLUS tommorrow is like a career day for seniors and you suppossed to either job shadow or do a college vist and i dont need a college vist, just not needed. and i found out a week ago that the zoo needs 6 weeks notice to accept me! well thats probably not gonna happen cause i sent in my request form like friday! :((( and i am NOT gonna sit ina study hall for 4 hours doing nothingg! so i have to somehow find something to do in like 18 hours!

BUT ABOUT MY READING LIFE: i have decided to borrow this book from Rachel that looks realll good and i mexcited to read a book im almost possitive ill actuall ylike. "The Dart League King" is just so random and full of vulgar content, but that isnt really why i stopped reading it. one night i layed down to read and i found myself reading the same few pages over and over again.. thats a bad sign. but im so busy i havent had to time to really start that other book called "Hate List".

AS im geting into this book its becoming diffucult to read but i AM sticking with it. under certain characters, there will only be like 2 or 3 senteces stretched out over 2 pages! its so hard to comprehend when the whole chapter is dependent clause after dependent clause! and this one guy watched a girl drown and didnt help!! hes messed up. and everyone does crack and is in trouble with the law somehow and has alot of.. sexual intercourse. haha BUT its still a good book!

CURRENTLY!
only 52 pages this week :/

"First Kiss" --April Lardner
"I Said It To You" --Paul Eluard

longtime_nosee

im going to admit i have really neglected my reading and blogging this week.. and something i am horrified to admit to is i haven't even been keeping track of my book pages on my book mark D: iv been worried about college and homework and i dropped the SWEEP series because the next book that i was supposed to read wasn't even about them. Morgan and Hunter had found an ancient diary and everything but the first and last chapter was the actual words of the diary they found. and i did NOT wanna read that. so i dropped the series, sadly :/ Within the next few days my friends mentioned that the UGLIES PRETTIES SPECIALS EXTRAS series was going to become a movie sometime within the next year! i remember reading that series in the 7th grade and i loved it! and since its been so long since iv read it, i picked up the first book, Uglies, at the school library.. but after i few chapters i remember the first like BOOK is pretty slow, and with all my requirements i cant deal with a slow book. so i browsed MR Hill's book selection yesterday and picked out a book called "The Wonder Spot" and while reading that last night i was skimming through the book, and this book consists of 4 or 5 different stories... UGH! no, i want a long, action pact filled book, not short stories! so once again im stuck... but i did put "The Dart League King" on hold at the library, recommended by MR Hill... but again, i cant wait for that to come in! ahhhhhh!

a good reason to stop reading, yet OFCOURSE i wont

OMG! im beyond peeved. in the 10th book, "Seeker" (which is basically the name for a witch police officer).. WAIT well let me give basic info first. Hunter and Morgan are together, in love, been through so much togther, yeah yeha yeah. meant-to-be couple. anyways, Hunter, whos a seeker, is sent off to canada for numeruous reasons, but one is to investigate this girl witch becasue they (the "Witch Council") think shes doing evil magick. well... long story short, so i dont upset myself again, he kisses this girl!!! thier arguing about right and wrong, the moment is all heated, she pulls him towards her and they kiss, BUT HE DOSNT STOP RIGHT AWAY! he pulls her close and kisses her back!! OHHHHHHH i was livid! which makes me a loser.. anyways, eventually he pulls away all sorry and that was so wrong blah blah blah.. and uses his personal family issues as an excuse as to why he so unstable. WHATEVER, hes a jerk. cause hes all i know it was wrong but she felt so good pressed against me.. just becasue this stupid witch has " a bigger chest" than morgan.. >:/ <--- thats a very angry face. im a firm believer that once a guys cheats, or even atempts to cheat, HE'S DONE! buh-bye, toot-a-loo! and in my head im screaming I HAVE TO TELL MORGAN! ....but wait these are fictional characters! and im getting totally fumed at a bunch of words! this is why i just cant read some of those dramatic highschool teeny bopper books cause thats what its all about; jerks and ..for lack of a better word, "loose girls" .. but *sigh* the book must go on||

btw, i was reading this whole part in government class after a test, and totally turned a couple of heads at my disgruntled noises...

i enjoying going to the lake, and TRYING to feed the ducks.. who just swim away. instead i get attacked by seagulls and swans >:/

intheFAMILYofthings

hello im MS speedy reader and im already on the 10th book of the SWEEP series :D the first 9 books were written from Morgans point of view, but this is the first one written in Hunter's point of view (her bf). im really not too found of it. cause his life is kinda boring... hes just going to Canada looking for his lost father. i find morgans life alot more interesting. but after this book, theres only 2 left, so something bigs gotta happen soon cause these books are never more than 200 pages really.. which i don't like. i like big fat obese novels. i like the weight of them in my hand.. ALSO the reason why i dont like kindles and nooks, cause you cant turn pages, hold the book in your lap, see how far youv read and how much you have left to go. call my old fashion, but i like books(:

btw, etymology is my favorite class ;D

GODgavemeYOU♥

I’ve been a walking heartache I’ve made a mess of me The person that I’ve been lately Ain’t who I wanna be But you stay here right beside me And watch as the storm blows through And I need you Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs God gave me you for the days of doubt And for when I think I lost my way There are no words here left to say, it’s true God gave me you Gave me you There’s more here than what we’re seeing A divine conspiracy That you, an angel lovely Could somehow fall for me You’ll always be love’s great martyr And I’ll be the flattered fool And I need you
God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you
On my own I’m only Half of what I could be I can’t do without you We are stitched together And what love has tethered I pray we never undo
Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you, gave me you.
He gave me you.

well iv finished two books this week ("The Calling" & "Changeling").. which totals 377 pages!
TOTAL: 621 pages this semester.

this is an exerpt (sp?) from an essay about Mister Rogers i had to read for a college class and this paragraph was so well written and so powerful, i read it like 4 times.. i know its alot, but its deep.

"He is losing, of course. The revolution he started--a half hour a day, five days a week--it wasn't
losing. He is losing to it, to our twenty-four-hour-a-day pie fight, to the dizzying cut and the
disorienting edit, to the message of fragmentation, to the flicker and pulse and shudder and strobe,
to the constant, hivey drone of the electroculture … and yet still he fights, deathly afraid that the
medium he chose is consuming the very things he tried to protect: childhood and silence. Yes, at
seventy years old and 143 pounds, Mister Rogers still fights, and indeed, early this year, when
television handed him its highest honor, he responded by telling television--gently, of course--to just
shut up for once, and television listened. He had already won his third Daytime Emmy, and now he
went onstage to accept Emmy's Lifetime Achievement Award, and there, in front of all the soapopera
stars and talk-show sinceratrons, in front of all the jutting man-tanned jaws and jutting
saltwater bosoms, he made his small bow and said into the microphone, "All of us have special ones
who have loved us into being. Would you just take, along with me, ten seconds to think of the
people who have helped you become who you are ... Ten seconds of silence." And then he lifted his
wrist, and looked at the audience, and looked at his watch, and said softly, "I'll watch the time," and
there was, at first, a small whoop from the crowd, a giddy, strangled hiccup of laughter, as people
realized that he wasn't kidding, that Mister Rogers was not some convenient eunuch but rather a
man, an authority figure who actually expected them to do what he asked … and so they did. One
second, two seconds, three seconds … and now the jaws clenched, and the bosoms heaved, and the
mascara ran, and the tears fell upon the beglittered gathering like rain leaking down a crystal
chandelier, and Mister Rogers finally looked up from his watch and said, "May God be with you" to
all his vanquished children."

--Tom Junod
Can You Say ... "Hero"?
